• Ongoing: International Bluegrass Music Museum – Interactive Hands-On Guided Tours. Instrument demonstrations and teachings, films, short videos, touch-screen exhibits, scavenger hunts and more – all suited for people of all ages. • Ongoing: Owensboro Museum of Science & History – “Magic: The Science of Illusion.” Some of the most famous magic tricks and illusions in history will happen right before your eyes in this exhibit that’s on loan to the Museum through December 31 from the California Science Center. • Ongoing: Yellow Creek Park – Pioneer Village Open House. Re-live the past with demonstrations, arts and crafts and other activities from days long past. Continues the last Saturday of each month through November and again on December 15. Starts at 10 a.m. Call 685-6142 for more information.           

• November 10: Downtown Owensboro – Veteran’s Day Parade. Honoring local veterans will be area vet groups, school bands, military units and other community organizations. Begins at 2 p.m.

• November 17: Downtown Owensboro – Annual Christmas Parade. Selected in 2004 as one of the Top Ten events in Kentucky and one of the Top Twenty events by the Southeast Tourism Council, this parade is the largest Christmas parade in Kentucky and the tri-state area. 2007 will be the 71st year for the parade. The theme is “That Magical Christmas Feeling.” Begins at 4:30 p.m.

• November 23 through January 1: Panther Creek Park – “Christmas At Panther Creek.” This annual celebration of light (over a quarter million of them) attracts thousands to the long and winding roads of the Park; begins at 6 p.m. each night through the New Year.
