Since the writer's strike that began in November, late night comedy shows have been, well, filled with a lot of deja vu. That's because they've been showing reruns, and since most of the jokes are topical and time-sensitive, shows like The Daily Show, Colbert Report, The Late Show and The Tonight Show have been mostly unwatchable.

Well, the best of the night crew (with all due apologies to Mr. Letterman) return on January 7, with or without the efforts of WGA writers. As Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert both say, "We would like to return to work with our writers. If we cannot, we would like to express our ambivalence, but without our writers we are unable to express something as nuanced as ambivalence."

So yeah, it'll be cool to see the return of some fresh stuff - if only on one network and for only an hour... what's your take on this, the writer's strike and whatever else comes to mind?
