Snow Bunnies: A Search for the Gold Egg

Hippety-hoppety, Easter’s on it way…”
That’s
right, ladies and gentleman, Easter comes early this year; March 23 to be
exact. Hopefully, it won’t be a whopping 20 degrees like it was last year! It
would be a shame to see the “snow bunnies” wearing parkas and snow shoes while
hunting down the cherished Easter egg. The groundhog did say we had 3 months of
winter left, or something like that. Hmmm…let’s consult the Farmer’s Almanac. It is supposed to be,
“very warm” on March 23, 2008. Ha, you sly groundhog! You are no match for the Almanac!
Whether Mother Nature decides to comply with our holiday or not, bring
your “snow bunnies” to Diamond Lakes Resort on Saturday, March 15, for their
annual Easter Eggstravaganza! Whether it’s chilly or warm, all kids love the
anticipation and thrill of an Easter egg hunt.
The merriment
begins at 11:30 a.m., with several egg-citing activities including arts and crafts,
where kids can make a decorative Easter bag, Easter magnets, and simple crafts
for the younger folk. There will also be several bunny-themed games and
activities such as: pin-the-tail-on-the-bunny, a duck pond, a fishing game,
face painting and for an additional $2 can sit with the Easter Bunny and have a
professional photo taken.
The main event for the day, the
Easter Egg Hunt, kicks off at 1:30 in the afternoon. There will be three hunts:
one for ages 1-2 years, one for ages 3-5 years, and one for ages 6 and up. In
each group, there will be one golden egg with a special prize inside. So, make
sure you look under every rock and turn over every leaf, because you never know
where that golden egg may be hiding. For a sweet end to a wonderful day, stick
around for the ice-cream social at 2:30.
