Ushering in the holiday season on December 1st at 7pm, the Owensboro Dance Theatre performs that beautiful and festive holiday favorite: The Nutcracker! Featuring the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra performing the dynamic Tchaikovsky musical score and guest conductor Michael Luxner, the music itself will sweep you into a land of dancing toys and candies. Under the direction of Joy Johnson and Kyra McOmber, the ODT company and apprentice company members will bring to life this timeless Christmas story of Marie and her Nutcracker Prince through a beautiful combination of ballet, jazz, tap, and gymnastics. Guest Artists Ian and Eleanor Carney from New Orleans, Louisiana will add to the talent as they perform the Sugar Plum Fairy Pas de Duex.
Joined by over 100 community members from the Owensboro area and surrounding counties and several additional professional guest artists from around the country, this production is sure to leave you in a state of wonderment and awe!
