Well News4U racing fans, another season of motorsports is on
our door! The kick off of the 2008 racing season is just around the corner and
the fans and drivers alike are ready to rumble.
April
in the tri-state means it is time for racing to get rolling at all the local
tracks. With Mother Nature being so strange to us over the winter it has
prompted some delays on yearly prep at some of the tracks. This will not hold
many back.
The
local season opener for many rowdy round racers is the Bluegrass Bash that is
held at Western KY Speedway in late March. At press time race preparations were
still going on but Mother Nature was not looking favorable for the event. We
will update this in the next issue.
Drag
racing at Windy Hollow Raceway and Chandler Motorsports Park will be starting
up really soon as will Tri-State Speedway, High Banks Speedway outside of the
OWB, Rockport Raceway and Soggy Bottom Raceway. The web addresses for each of
these is listed below for you to get the updated schedule of events.
Our radio
show will fire up in April as well to keep you up to speed on the happenings
for 2008 and interviews with drivers and track promoters. Radio Goes Racing
with myself and Jay Velotta will again air on Power Rock 93.9 WKTG on Monday
nights from 7-8 p.m., live from the Roca Bar in Owensboro
and it will be shown tape delayed on Owensboro's
Time Warner TV8 on Tuesday nights.
As the
year goes on we will have more action packed juice for you here in the N4U so
make sure to pick up your copy of News4U at your favorite retailer! Hey, don’t
let the fuel prices scare you away from taking in one of America's
favorite sports... There is no other form of entertainment that you can take
your family and enjoy 5 plus hours of high octane excitement for the price of
racing!
Until next month... Keep it shiny side up and roll on!
Peace-
