First Presbyterian Church
Hosts 10th Annual Multicultural FestivalI’m not the best traveler in
the world. I’ve been hurt, lost or miserably uncomfortable every time I’ve left
the country. I’m completely Americanized. Slap a “Made in America”
sticker on me and put me back on the shelf because I just don’t travel well.
For my honeymoon, my husband and I flew down to Cancun, Mexico.
During our stay, our luggage got lost and had been set in some sort of fuel, I
got sicker than a dog (and did NOT drink water), was sunburned and got water in
my ear – that still has not come out yet! That doesn’t even count my new
husband slipping on wet ceramic tile and cracking his head on a barstool. I’ve
somehow passed my curse onto him.
It’s not that I don’t want to expose myself to all the
cultures of the world, I’m just afraid I’d be the one traveler that would
somehow catch the Asian Buffalo Fever and bring it back to the States. No sir!
Bring the culture to me!

That is just what First Presbyterian Church is doing. Well,
not just for me; for all of Owensboro
to enjoy! On August 16th from 11 a.m. - p.m., all the cultures that
span the globe will be consolidated for people who can’t make it across the oceans
at the 10th Annual Multicultural Fest. Enjoy food, fashions and
entertainment from far away places like the Czech Republic, Mexico, Scotland,
the Middle East, South America, England, China, Japan and even some cultural
phenomenons closer to home.
The cost is completely FREE except for food and there will be plenty of kids’ activities
including a scavenger hunt at the 40+ booths, a dachshund race and even salsa
dance lessons.
