Local Band to Perform at Little Sturgis: Slick Willy

Name of band and how did you arrive at this name?

Slick Willy is the name of our band and the name... well came from a bet. :)

Members and equipment-

Brian Hart, Dan Biggs, Steve Krietzer, and Kevin Woods

We have top gear – Crown, JBL, Alesis, Behringer, Marshall, Shure, CGM, and Line 6 Vetta.

What you play?

We play everything from Funky Music White Boy to songs from Buckcherry and Godsmack

How long have you been together/brief history?

About 3 years. We were a 3 piece Dan, Steve and myself. Now for the last year we picked up Kevin who is an AWESOME addition.

Is this your job or hobby?

It’s a serious hobby for all of us. Steve plays drums for a living.

Something we wouldn't know about the band.
Interesting thing about one member is Kevin owns a studio in Franklin Tenn. He has done some recording for Lonestar and knows the band really well.

If SW was a candy, what would it be and why?

Not sure.

Who would win in a fight - Cartman (South park) or Chunk (The Goonies)?

CARTMAN!

Who has influenced your music?

Stevie Ray Vaughn, ZZ Top, Kings X, Neil Young, Gary Moore, Nickelback, The Eagles and Journey. We love bands with harmonies, good guitar riffs and feeling is there music.

If you could ask any musician dear or alive one question, what would you ask and who would it be to?

Stevie Ray Vaughn – “Can you show me how to play like that?”

What's coming up for the summer/fall of 2008 for SW?

Little Sturgis Rally, Time Out Lounge (Evansville), Big Daddy's, Tequila Sheila’s, and recording an album.

I know you are slated to play at Little Sturgis. Are you excited? Ever played it before? Do you ride?

We are excited. I played when I sang in a band MINX. It was awesome! Dan still rides.

After you play all night at a bar, do you get breakfast and chill or go home?

Denny's! Or go home, shower and drink some beer.

Harleys or crotch rockets?

Cruisers, no crotch rockets.
