those of you wondering what to do on Friday nights this summer, I have exciting
news for you: The Sunset Series is back! This fantastic event was put on a brief
hiatus when the Executive Inn closed, but thanks to the City of

The
Series is tentatively set to happen every Friday night thru August 29, but that
all depends on you! Kerry Bodenheimer, from the City Parks Department, says in
order for the Series to be successful they “need the crowds to be there.”
“Everyone
is trying to keep it going. The City of
This
event could not take place without the additional sponsorship of several local
businesses and organizations including: Moonlight BBQ, Kentucky Monthly, Don
Moore, the Epilepsy Foundation, the Autism Support Network of Owensboro, and
Media partners: Fox 7, 93.9 Rock, and your own Publications of News4U. Even
so, in order for The Sunset Series to stick around, they need additional
funding to keep it going. If you or your business is willing to become a
sponsor, please contact Kerry Bodenheimer at the City Parks Department at 687-8700.
Event
co-coordinators have certainly worked hard to keep you entertained by putting
together a superb roster of entertainment! You will hear every genre of music
from high energy rock to Led Zeppelin to the Blues and even Rock and Soul. Music groups such as StompBox 40, Winds of
Thor, The Beat Daddy’s, and The Velvet Bombers will have you jumping up and
down and thoroughly enjoying yourself. You will experience entertainment you
cannot find anywhere else in

stressful week and relax under the stars. You will not be disappointed!

to the Jayne Bond website, “Since 1997, this premiere show band has performed
their classic hits all over the US and in the Caribbean at corporate parties,
festivals, conventions, wedding receptions and special events.
Jayne and the band play a wide
variety of hits in a setting of colorful costumes and high energy choreography.
The band gets audiences of all ages involved in dance contests, hula hoop
contests, conga lines and on stage with "live karoake"... we provide
the music and lyrics; you provide the star power!
Whether it's a 50s sock hop, a
groovy 60s "happening", 70s disco party, an 80s retro theme party, or
the cutting-edge hits of today.”
