If you've heard of Miley Cyrus, no doubt you've been exposed
to the Jonas Brothers. Born to a minister, these squeaky-clean siblings ranging
from 15 to 20 years of age have branched out to headlining their own shows. On
the big screen with Hannah Montana's 3-D concert, they also appear on the
Disney Channel and starred in a movie of their own β Camp Rock β slated for a June release. Recently playing a sold-out
show at Roberts Stadium, the brothers sat down with Booker & Sarah for an
exclusive interview.
B&S: Nick, I know you've been asked a million times about whether or not
you are dating Miley Cyrus and you've denied it every time. Is that still the
case?
Nick: Yeah, you know...still just friends. Uh no, no romantic relationship
there.
How did that rumor get started?
Nick: Umm...you know pictures people take. You know we're friends so if we're
just hanging out somebody says, you know, they're dating. Same thing happened
with Joe and the whole JoJo thing. People thought they were dating because he
was helping her cross the street when it was snowing and the next thing you
know [looks at Joe] you guys have been together for three years, you're very
happy and it's just this whole thing.
Joe: Um, yeah, no, not dating her.
You know, we asked some of our listeners
what they wanted to ask you and that leads into one of the questions: Who are
you guys dating?
Kevin, Joe and Nick: Nobody.
Kevin: No one at the moment. Yeah, we're on the road so it's hard to keep up
relationships when you're on the road. So we're just single guys hanging out.
What about groupies?
Kevin: Uh, no.
Joe: No.
Kevin: As you can see, we have backstage on lockdown hardcore, so it's pretty
hard for anyone to get back here.

You know we're good guys. We're not doing anything shady.
We have people around us who are good. We have
each other. So we watch each other's backs.
Is there an eagle eye watching over you
guys making sure you're not doing anything shady?
Joe: You know we're good guys. We're not doing anything shady. We have people
around us who are good. We have each other. So we watch each other's backs.
What about school? Do you have a tutor?
Kevin: I'm done. I'm graduated high school so right now I'm just focusing on
the music. I'm not going to college at the moment but these two guys we have
tutors on the road that travel with us and they're home schooled. They're
finishing up. Joe's almost done.
Joe: Yeah, I have like one day of school left.
Do you think it's easier or harder than
going to a real school?
Joe: I find it pretty easy because there's not like all the breaks between
classes and you don't have to go to school from like 9 to 3. I have like three
hours of school where I can just punch it and get through it and so it's really
a lot easier.
Alex [from Evansville] wants to know if you guys have
any pets?
Kevin: We had a dog β his name was Cocoa.
He passed away last year so that was kind of sad.
Are you going to replace Cocoa?
Joe: I don't know if he can ever be replaced. Maybe we'll get another dog sooner
or later.
Wendy [from Evansville] wants to know: What celebrities
are your friends?
Kevin: You know, it's weird we get that question a bunch. We have really good,
um, great friends. I think Corbin is⦠Corbin Bleu is definitely one of our best
friends. David Henry is on the show Wizards.
Who else do we hang out with?
Joe: You've named them.
Kevin: Yeah, pretty much that's it. Of course we are friends with Miley. But
you know we really try to stay true to our friends and keep it close-knit. We
don't go out and try to make friends with everyone because we know that
everyone is not really your friend.
Have you guys gotten any phone calls
from celebs that are trying to get their kids in to see the show?
Nick: We heard Garth Brooks wanted to come to a show, which was pretty cool.
Heather Locklear came to one of our shows and was wearing one of our sweatshirts
and that was awesome.
Kevin: Yeah that was a good one. That was the best, for sure.
Are you guys really recording your new
CD on a bus?
Kevin: We recorded it in a Gibson tour bus and they made it into a studio for
us. It has a grand piano and everything that we needed. And there was that low
rumble, so you couldn't do everything but we actually kept a lot of the vocals.
We could do guitars and things like that. You can't fit drums in a tour bus, so
we had to do some things in the studio but a lot of the new record that's gonna
come out was recorded in the bus.
