Believe it or not,
there are two (yes, two) Ashley Albins in the tri-state area. Though “Ashley”
was just about the most frequently used word used throughout the 90s, the name
in its entirety is a bit unique. But there are two of them-living harmoniously.
One grew up in Newburgh, one in Owensboro. The Owensboro
AA moved to Evansville in 2003, while the Newburgh
AA moved to Indianapolis.
After countless misunderstandings, the Owensboro
AA started hyphenating her middle name with her last name, changing it to
Ashley West-Albin. They both have gotten used to the idea of one another, but
this story gets even more complicated. Not only are they both fathered by a
James Albin (not the same guy) both Ashley Albins became engaged in 2007 (both
to guys with initials of JS)! This baffled the bridal boutiques beyond all
measure. So, because News 4U supports area engagements through our Tri-State
Bride, and because one of the Ashley Albins happens to be the new N4U managing
editor, we decided to put an end to this chaos! Without further boring you with
the Ashley Albin saga… here they are and the guys who are smart enough to marry
them!
Ashley West-Albin
& Jeremy Sollars
The Couple
Ashley West-Albin, daughter of James and Kathleen Albin of Owensboro, KY, and Jeremy
David Sollars, son of David and Elaine Sollars of Newburgh,
IN are set to wed on May 17, 2008 at the
Vanderburgh 4-H Center Lake with reception to immediately follow at The Centre
in downtown Evansville.
The couple is honeymooning in Cancun, Mexico and will reside in Evansville.
The Story
Jeremy and Ashley met on
September 7th, 2006, strangely enough on a blind date. Their mutual
friends, Brendon and Emily, both knew each had been single for a while and were
tired of them always being the “third wheel.” They gave Ashley a choice of a
few single candidates and her deciding factor was asking Emily, “Which one is
the cutest?” Ashley brought her signature “pink cupcakes” to the blind date and
Jeremy stole her heart when he leaned to her and whispered, “you can make pink
cupcakes for me anytime…”
On April 8,
2007, Ashley awoke to an Easter basket full of filled bright colored eggs. When
she got to the last egg at the bottom, large and golden, she was disappointed for
when she shook it, only one piece of candy jiggled. When she opened the egg, a
diamond ring fell out and Jeremy asked her to marry him.

Ashley Lauren Albin
& Jordan Marshall Sherman
The Couple
Ashley Lauren Albin, daughter of James and Alice Albin, and Jordan
Marshall Sherman, son of Tom and Renee Sherman, are set to be married on August
16, 2008 at the Indiana
State Museum
with reception to immediately follow. The couple is honeymooning at Sandals in
the Bahamas and will reside
in Indianapolis.
The Story
Both Ashley and Jordan worked at Rolling Hills Country Club
where they officially met. Ashley and
Jordan attended Perdue
University and crossed
paths again, where they began to exchange conversation; they went on to find
out their mothers were both attendants of the same tennis class, were in the
same childhood nursery and preschool, and had many mutual friends. The couple
ended up becoming the best of friends and started dating in college. They
became official in Indianapolis
when he moved to be with her and continue their happiness through today.
All we have to say at N4U… It’s a good thing their middle names aren’t
Stacy, Sarah or Sandy! Good luck, Ashley Albins!
