Beatle Invasion!

What happens when you mix the British Invasion with a Giant Bug Invasion? It’s not a long lost sci-fi film starring the Beatles fighting radioactive praying mantises, although that would be wicked cool. Try Labor Day Weekend at the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden, where Nashville’s The WannaBeatles will be performing in celebration of David Roger’s Big Bugs Exhibit.

David Roger’s Big Bugs will be at the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden from August through October. This exhibit features gigantic bugs – some over 1,000 lbs and over 20 feet tall, that are made from natural materials such as felled trees and fungus. The exhibit will be available to view during the hours the garden is open, Monday through Friday 9:00 to 3:00 p.m., but that’s not all. WKBG will also have special programming for thirteen Sundays in a row.  Here’s a schedule of events.

But of course, we can’t forget the special Labor Day weekend event. Saturday, August 30th at 5:00 p.m. when Nashville’s The WannaBeatles will be performing. Unlike some Beatles’ imitators that try to embody the Fab Four to the point of cloning (Invasion of the Body Snatchers?); The WannaBeatles are simply four accomplished musicians who grew up on John, Paul, George and Ringo and want to share it with the rest of us. If that doesn’t “bug” you then be sure to check them out!
